Who is Green Shield?
Green Shield was formed by Josh Larson, a former safety director and business owner in the green industry. As an Insurance professional Josh utilized his Insurance expertise to craft insurance programs for green industry companies. Green Shield understands the unique needs of the industry and understands the importance of both protecting your company and reducing your total cost of risk (Insurance). Green Shield is a dedicated program of the Monson Agency, an independent insurance broker whom has been insuring lawn care and landscape contractors for 65 years.

Josh Larson
President/Advisor Mr. Larson has an extensive background in the Green Industry as an employee, business owner and professional advisor. Starting with his childhood as the son of a large lawn care company in the upper midwest to operating his own lawn care company while in college servicing common interest community accounts. His expertise in the risk management and insurance business started while serving as the Safety Director for a large utility tree service contractor and was responsible for managing the insurance portfolio and realized the profound impact of managing risk and insurance costs have on the bottom line. Mr. Larson’s background in the industry and risk management expertise has assisted companies in creating unique insurance programs due to his ability to accurately articulate the key components of each client business to Insurance Carriers. As an advisor to the Green Industry he has presented on managing the experience modification rating factor and providing training for herbicide applicators and obtaining the CTSP designation. |
